Notre Dame Ave. Sports Bar Nostalgia

When I first entered Overtime Sports Bar and Grill, I was instantly reminiscent of my days at ‘Gilmour’s 93 Sports Bar’ where I ate frequently to appease my strong craving for a delicious BLT salad.  Now I find my craving has shifted towards the Sirloin and Spinach salad and yes, a whole new menu vibe with the same sports feel.  If you are not a fan favourite of salads, then I also recommend any of the original six hockey team burgers. My love for the Chicago burger is truly a Blackhawks bias.  The menu is homemade decadence enhanced by the large portion sizes that could fuel you for an entire day and then some.  Chef Aaron and chef Shane have that culinary passion that drizzles into every dish, I assure you there are minimal food modifications needed at this restaurant but hey if your palate steers you differently, they are very accommodating.  This culinary team is always on a quest for the ultimate guest experience.

The new owner Attilio Langella is no stranger to the sports scene or the culinary industry.  His love of hockey and specifically the Toronto Maple Leafs (befitting of my Gilmour’s nostalgia) has been a driver and reviver for this Notre Dame gem.  He has spent countless hours, within the four walls and out in the community, promoting his Porketta Bingo, Paint Social, Mitch Gagnon UFC nights, daily menu features, 7- day drink specials, Friday night acoustic shows and his upcoming Throwback Thursday’s where the DJ will be spinning 80’s & 90’s music.  Born and raised in Naples, Italy Attilio moved to Sudbury when he was 6, eventually immersing himself in the local culinary culture along with his acumen of woodworking.  This local culture is solidified in his establishment with Stack Brewing, Swing Bridge, entertainment, events, promotions and team sponsorships.  Overtime Sports Bar and Grill does exude that Notre Dame sports bar nostalgia with a determined and modified approach to heighten the guest experience.
